Anyway, last Sunday the Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS remake came out. It's nice to finally own my own 3DS game. I'm at the Shadow Temple right now. This will be interesting, as I usually stop playing once I get the Water Temple over with. Obviously, I've beaten the game a few times, but since I probably have a minor case of ADHD, I tend to lose interest in games pretty easily (even if it is one of the best games of all time).

My impressions so far are that Nintendo nailed it. The graphics look nice, and I love the gyroscope aiming for the bow and arrow. I even have the 3D effect on a lot. While I turn it off often when I think I'll be using the gyroscope to aim, I always leave it on during cutscenes, and while running around Hyrule Field.
The touchscreen is also a big plus. No more is pressing Start a constant thing. Now, with just a few taps, you're equipping Iron Boots. I love it. It's nice to have a handheld version of a game I grew up with. Bring on Star Fox 3DS!
This is the beginning of a great line of software for the 3DS, as this upcoming week will mark the release of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. While the game itself looks pretty cool, it also will include a demo of next year's Resident Evil Revelations. Some thought that Resident Evil 5 might be the end of the series. But, with Mercenaries, Operation Raccoon City, Revelations, and the movie sequel to Degeneration, Damnation on the way, RE fans have a lot to gear up for. Even the Milla Jovovich movie series is planning on a fifth entry.

Also, are the Pirates Satanists? They have been a good team this year, at 39-38 (be sure to read my articles about them at Sports Haze), but have lost seven Sunday games in a row. Ouch.

However, had you told me preseason that Ryan Doumit, Ross Ohlendorf, Evan Meek, Pedro Alvarez, and Chris Snyder would all miss significant time due to injury, yet Pittsburgh would still stand at 39-38, I would have taken it in a heartbeat. Let's see how they do coming off of another injury, this one to Jose Tabata.
Finally, my PS3 went out. It got the yellow light of death a few months ago, but I had it fixed by a local PA guy for around $60. This time, however, I'm letting Sony handle it. It broke Thursday night, with my GameFly rented Duke Nukem Forever disc stuck inside of it! I already got the coffin they sent me on Saturday (via Fedex blah), so here's hoping the turn around continues to go swiftly. Until then it's 360 games. Like Dead Rising 2, and Half-Life 2. Bring it.
Til next time!
