Why haven't I posted on here since July 3rd? I've started writing at a site called Buy Poe. Any video game thoughts I have are generally going to go there, unless it's something strictly opinion based, like my top five Sunday lists.
I've already written four articles, so please check them out here. Make comments, too!
In other news, the Pirates are 47-43 at the All-Star break, and are one game out of first place. It's funny, but I have mixed feelings about them doing well. On one hand, it's nice to be vindicated, as I've been saying for the last few years that the franchise is heading in the right direction. However, to me, part of the allure of being a Pirates fan was the rebellious nature of cheering for a team that had lost for almost two decades. It's weird that being a Pirates fan is the new "in" thing now.
However, anyone who knows me knows that I've been a fan for years, so I doubt I'll be suspected of just jumping on the bandwagon this year.
In related news, the Pirates have sent three men to said All-Star game. I'm really looking forward to seeing Andrew McCutchen play while the whole world is watching.
Til next time!

New List, Among Other Things
First off, how about the Pittsburgh Pirates? They sit 1.5 games out of first place, with nine very winnable games in a row coming up. The most exciting thing about it is that they continue to do it without a lot of players who are currently injured. This month will be a huge one for them.
Also, Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D has finally come out. I just got it yesterday, as I had Amazon ship it to me. So far, I love it. While reviews out there are killing it for not having much content in it, that doesn't really bother me. Being a handheld, it's a perfect game to boot up, play a quick match, and then turn off. While there can be framerate issues sometimes, it hasn't really gotten in my way. Plus, any game that lets me play as Wesker is okay with me. I haven't touched the included Revelations demo yet, either. Will have to check that out soon.
Now that RE3DS has graduated from my (semi) weekly list, here's the new one:
5. Dead Rising 2: Off the Record (PS3, 360)
I'm a big fan of the Dead Rising games, and am looking forward to paying through DR2 through the eyes of Frank West. It definitely looks cool, but I wish they would have made it part of the actual DR canon instead of a, "what-if" scenario.

4. The House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut (PS3)
I wonder if there's a way that House of the Dead 4 could be included with this? That game still hasn't seen a console release.

3. No More Heroes: Hero's Paradise (PS3)
It's very odd that the 360 version of this remake isn't making it to North American shores. Oh well, I was going to play it on the PS3 for Move control, anyway.

2. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (Wii)
Speaking of motion controls, I still have to pick up a Motion Plus for the Wii before this game comes out...

1. Animal Crossing 3DS
Really hoping this comes out this holiday season. In the meantime, I'll keep plugging along at the Wii version.

Go Pirates. Til next time!
